Since its beginnings in 1972, Mr. Janitor has grown from a simple two man cleaning company to one of the most respected high-tech cleaning and service companies in Tucson and Southern Arizona. Today, quality janitorial services involve much more than dust, trash, and vacuum. Joe Mooney began Mr. Janitor in 1972 after graduating with his M.B.A. degree. Over those years, Mr. Janitor is fortunate to have earned an excellent reputation for the highest levels of service and workmanship. With years of growth, under Joe's leadership, Mr. Janitor now has over 3,000,000 square feet of office and building space under contract. Mr. Janitor takes pride in handling any size project with the ownership directly involved in all accounts insuring the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. When the Mr. Janitor team begins a new account, Joe Mooney's staff is strongly committed to nurturing lasting business relationships, which is evidenced by having served several of their customers for over 23 years.
Jim was born in Columbus Ohio, but has been in Tucson since 1977. Jim has been in the janitorial business for 23 years. He started as a part time janitor to earn extra money while in college, and continuing part time while running a business. In 1999, Jim started his own janitorial company servicing commercial properties and working with realtors providing move out and foreclosure clean-ups. In 2004, Mr. Janitor bought out Jim's company and he came to work as the General Manager for Mr. Janitor. In 2009, Jim received certification as a Green Clean Technician. This continuous education allows Jim to stay up-to-date in the area of green cleaning. Jim is a member of BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association).
Quality Control Manager
Originally from Empalme, Sonora Mexico, Lupita's first job was delivering groceries at eight years-old. At 13, she opened a business selling candy, fresh fruit, school supplies and refreshments. From that moment she learned the many qualities to be successful. Lupita graduated from the State of Sonora in Science of Communications and four semesters in the University Autonoma of Nayarit for Business Administration/Pre-Law. To pursue the American Dream, Lupita moved to Tucson and worked at Star Pass Resort and Lisa Frank Factory at the same time to help support our family. At Star Pass she was promoted from housekeeper to a supervisor within two months.
Following Star Pass, Lupe announced that she got her "first real job!" She considers herself an entrepreneur and, thanks to Mr. Janitor, "I do what I like the most!" She has a certificate training on Team Clean, estimating and is experienced in all facets of housekeeping, maintenance, estimating and project management.
Lupita's goals include to keep growing with Mr. Janitor and focusing on maintaining strong relationships with both old and new clients.
With over four years at Mr. Janitor, Allie is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Her responsibilities include: recruiting, interviews and hiring, completing operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results, supporting company operations by maintaining office systems and assigning and monitoring clerical and secretarial functions, maintaining and replenishing inventory, checking stock to determine inventory levels, providing proper supplies to customers and ensuring proper billing monthly Allie assists the general manager and has studied accounting in college and completed a course on Federal and State Employment Laws.
Jessica provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support to others in the office to maintain an efficient office environment. Jessica's responsibilities include: greeting clients/suppliers/visitors to the organization in a professional and friendly manner, provide assistance to the general manager and staff members.
Born in Lebanon, PA.
Moved to Tucson, AZ in 1960.
Worked in retail sales as an interior decorator for about 12 years.
Always had a passion for math and accounting so in my early 30's went back to school and earned my degree in accounting, graduating top of my class.
Soon after graduation, I was offered a position from Westin Hotels International. Started as an imprest accountant and eventually became the credit manager for the Westin La Paloma, being responsible for an A/R worth over 100 million.
Started with Mr. Janitor in 1998 as an administrative assistant. Screening potential employees and doing payroll. Left Mr. Janitor in 2001. But it seemed I could not stay away. Came back in 2006 to do want I love the most "accounting". Planning to stay until I retire.
Ed is a native of Tucson, but spent 13 years in Wisconsin during and after college. He held some part time janitorial jobs during college. Ed then began a law enforcement career in 1987. After 23 years as a police officer and detective, Ed came to work for Mr. Janitor in 2011 as a janitorial supervisor. In July 2014 Ed began doing sales for Mr. Janitor. In his spare time Ed is a doting grandfather, photographer, and amateur singer.
